The nominee for this award is a mortgage agent (or provincial equivalent license) who has been in the industry for less than 2 years, licensed from January 1st, 2021 forward. The nominee has built their business through their own marketing, networking, and data base management.

The nominee for this award is a new Brokerage or Sub-Brokerage (must operate under their own license), either independent or within a franchise network, established less than two years from January 1st, 2021. The nominee would be a brokerage who has built positive relationships with lenders, suppliers, service providers, associations and their team of mortgage agents.

The nominee for this award is a mortgage agent/broker who deals exclusively in commercial mortgages and has built a solid business within this field. The nominee would have completed challenging transactions that required specialty lenders or a greater insight into the businesses with which they are dealing than most other commercial brokers. The nominee must have been a commercial mortgage broker for more than two years and whose commercial brokering activity comprises of a minimum of 80% of their overall business.

The nominee for this award is an underwriter, working with a Mortgage Lender or Insurer, who continually provides exceptional service to the broker community. This person would provide clear and concise underwriting with outstanding communication, turnaround, understanding of documentation, and consideration for the client and agent/broker. The nominee must have been an underwriter for more than two years.

The BDM of the Year Award recognizes an individual from a lender, insurer or service provider who offers superb customer service. This individual must be proactive in educating their clients on products and/or service requirements. The recipient must demonstrate their accessibility, their understanding of their clients’ business, and how they add value to the brand they represent. The nominee must have been a BDM for a minimum of two years.

The Mortgage Finance Company Lender of the Year Award recognizes a company that offers outstanding products and support to the broker industry. The company must be proactive and innovative in educating the industry and helping to raise the level of professionalism among stakeholders. They must demonstrate a dedication to improving the communities they serve.

The Bank Lender of the Year Award recognizes a company that offers outstanding products and support to the broker industry. The company must be proactive and innovative in educating the industry and helping to raise the level of professionalism among stakeholders. They must demonstrate a dedication to improving the communities they serve.

The Credit Union Lender of the Year Award recognizes a company that offers outstanding products and support to the broker industry. The company must be proactive and innovative in educating the industry and helping to raise the level of professionalism among stakeholders. They must demonstrate a dedication to improving the communities they serve.

The Private Lender of the Year Award recognizes a company (i.e. MIC or Mortgage Investment Entity that is not an individual private investor) that offers outstanding products and support to the broker industry. The company must be proactive and innovative in educating the industry and helping to raise the level of professionalism among stakeholders. They must demonstrate a dedication to improving the communities they serve.

This award recognizes a unique product or Innovation which has empowered the mortgage broker channel, expanded the mortgage broker’s ability to be competitively differentiated in the marketplace and benefit the consumer/borrower. The product or innovation must have been launched after January 1st, 2021. This includes versions of an existing product or innovation with significant advancements or changes.

The Best Media/Marketing Campaign of the Year Award recognizes the best media and/or marketing campaign by an individual agent. The award focuses on one specific campaign that has been created independently from any network or brokerage’s marketing.

The Best Media/Marketing Campaign of the Year Award (Brokerage) recognizes the best media and/or marketing campaign by a mortgage brokerage or network. The award focuses on one specific campaign that has been created by the mortgage broker or network. All brokerages are eligible.

The Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual who has made extraordinary contributions to the mortgage industry. The recipient of this award has a minimum of 10 years in the mortgage industry, have a history of distinguished service, be of outstanding and reputable character, has made a measurable impact of pioneering and innovative efforts across the industry and is regarded as an exceptional mentor and role model by professional colleagues. This recipient has provided a service beyond the requirements of the job through offices held, committee memberships, and community charitable work. They have shown a consistent record of advocacy for the mortgage profession and a dedication to furthering mortgage education for professionals and public alike.

This award recognizes one Brokerage or Sub-Brokerage (must operate under their own license), in each of the 6 following regions – BC, Alberta, Prairies (Manitoba and Saskatchewan), Ontario, Atlantic Canada and Quebec. The Brokerage or Sub-Brokerage may be part of a national mortgage organization (network, franchise, brokerage, or the like) and has demonstrated the ability to succeed and grow within its respective regional market while delivering an exceptional experience for its clients and/or agents. The nominee must have been in business for more than two years.

This award recognizes a mortgage network that is national in scope. The network has demonstrated the ability to grow and drive value for its respective broker members by way of strong leadership and management, a unique value proposition, and the ability to adapt its model to better serve brokers while being the embodiment of professionalism.

This award recognizes a mortgage brokerage that is national in scope and oversees mortgage brokers and agents under its direct mortgage license. The brokerage has demonstrated the ability to grow and drive value for its respective broker members by way of strong leadership and management, a unique value proposition, and the ability to adapt its model to better serve brokers while being the embodiment of professionalism. It should also demonstrate core proficiencies in key areas such as payroll, compliance and training.

The Community Service Award is awarded to an individual who has made extraordinary contributions to their community and beyond, making a significant positive impact through their time, charitable actions, volunteering, and dedication. The nominee must provide a 30-45 second video showing their charitable contribution or community service in action.
